A PAIR OF GEM-SET AND ENAMELED GOLD NAVARATNA EARRINGS
Each designed as a circular, rosette-shaped stud (karanphul), set to the center with an oval cabochon ruby representing the Sun (Surya). The central stone is encircled by eight radiating petal-shaped settings holding the remaining cosmic gems (Navaratna): diamond, pearl, red coral, hessonite garnet, blue sapphire, cat’s eye, yellow sapphire, and emerald. The gemstones are set using traditional kundan gold foil technique. The reverse of each earring features delicate floral openwork and decorative gold finishing.
The Navaratna (literally “nine gems”) is an ancient astrological arrangement representing the nine celestial bodies (Navagraha) of Vedic cosmology. Centered around the ruby (the Sun), the harmonized layout creates a balanced energy field intended to bestow protection, health, and cosmic alignment upon the wearer.
