À Jade Haldili inset with Navaratna in the form of a tree of life

Of cartouche-shaped outline with stepped top and bottom borders, the pale greyish-green nephrite jade plaque is set using the kundan technique (pure gold inlay) with a stylized Tree of Life (Kalpavriksha) motif. The foliage and scrolling stems hold nine distinct gemstones arranged according to the traditional Navaratna astrological schema, centered by a cabochon ruby. The upper rim is fitted with a silver-gilt suspension loop for wearing as an amulet.
